Practice:  Nat has been involved in many areas of practice, including the national class action involving polybutylene piping used in mobile homes, which was settled in Greene County, Alabama (Spencer v. Shell Oil, et al.); mass toxic tort cases in Greene County, Alabama (McLelland, et al. v. Burlington Northern, et al.) and Marengo County, Alabama (Allen, et al. v. Cemex, et al.), as well as numerous personal injury cases, both as local counsel and as lead counsel. He served as local counsel for Mary Maude Hobbs in the case Hobbs v. Dixie Oil, working with William Utsey, Kit Belt and Robert Turner. Nat participated in the trial and struck the jury that returned a Sumter County record verdict of $5,000,000 in favor of Ms. Hobbs for damage to her home and grounds due to gas leaking from improper piping at a Dixie Oil station adjacent to her home. Nat served as lead counsel representing his client, Mary Alice Foy, in the case of Foy v. Dollar General, a slip and fall case with medicals of approximately $5,000, which resulted in a jury verdict in favor of Ms. Foy in the amount of $500,000 compensatory damages and $250,000 punitive damages, a verdict that was affirmed without opinion by the Alabama Supreme Court.  In the case of Bias v. WalMart, Nat obtained a jury verdict of $100,000 for malicious prosecution. Nat served as local counsel with Lee Pittman and Kit Belt in Greene County in the case of Johnson v. Norfolk Southern, which resulted in a jury verdict for their client of $750,000. Nat has participated in numerous cases resulting in substantial settlements for his clients, many of which are confidential.
